System Requirements

To determine if your system is capable of viewing  NIC webcast presentation, there are three main areas that should be examined:

Computer system requirements 

Web browser requirements

Streaming media player requirements

 


Computer System Requirements

There are minimum computer system requirements for the successful viewing of an NIC Webcast. If these basic requirements are not met, difficulties viewing or listening to a webcast may be encountered.

Web Browser Requirements

There are minimum web browser requirements for the successful viewing of an NIC webcast. If you are experiencing difficulties viewing or listening to a webcast, make sure that you have a compatible browser version and that the browser is properly installed and configured.

Web browser downloads

* Note: Some versions of the Firefox, Netscape and Mozilla browsers may require a plugin to be fully compatible with the NIC webcast site when using Windows Media Player (not all versions have suitable plugins). Some Firefox 3.x versions also have known issues with some versions of RealPlayer. Netscape Navigator versions 6.x and 7.x are not fully supported. Streaming Media Player Requirements

There are minimum streaming media player requirements for the successful viewing of an NIC webcast. If you are experiencing difficulties viewing or listening to a webcast, make sure that you have a supported player version and that the player is properly installed and configured.

Streaming media player downloads

* Note: Windows Media Player version 9.0 and higher uses a captioning method that is not currently support by the NIC webcast site. If you require captioning service for Windows Media Player do not upgrade past version 8.x. See the Windows Media Player troubleshooting page for more information.

** Note: Some issues exist with recent versions of RealPlayer connecting through a firewall or when used in combination with Firefox 3. See the RealPlayer troubleshooting page for more information.
